The Importance of Water
In Cristalia, we have learned throughout the years how
necessary it is to drink the right amount of water everyday.
In this section, we will include some of the most frequently
asked questions about water, our services and how to keep
your body hydrated and well on its way to good health.
1. Why do we need water?
Water is a part of every body cell, tissue, and organ. Water
is also an integral part of the following bodily functions:
• Regulates body temperature
• Eliminates toxins from the body
• Transports nutrients, oxygen and glucose to the cells that
create energy
• Serves as a natural skin moisturizer
• Cushions joints, and helps strengthen the muscles
2. Are you receiving enough water?
Thirst is the first signal of dehydration. By the time that
your body is dehydrated, you could have lost from half a
quart to a full quart of water. It’s of extreme importance
to always drink water before felling thirsty. Coffee and
sweetened drinks are not the best way of maintaining your
body hydrated. Water is always the best solution.
To determine the right quantity of water that should drink
everyday (in ounces) you can:
• For adults or children that weigh more than 100 pounds,
divide your weight in half. The result will be the amount of
ounces you should drink. For kids, since their needs are
different, this formula cannot be applied.
3. What are the signals of dehydration?
The probability of being dehydrated increases when you’re in
very warm or extremely cold temperatures. The time of year,
physical activity and even traveling can greatly affect your
body’s hydration.
Since our brain is composed of 75% water, the first symptoms
of dehydration will be reflected in a decrease in energy or
fatigue, headaches and dizziness. Other symptoms that can
reflect bad hydration are:
• Nausea
• Dark colored urine
• Constipation
• An increase in body temperature
4. What are the repercussions of not drinking enough
water?
• The body will store more water than usual. This will
reflect as extra body weight.
• You will think that you are hungry, when what you really
need is water.
• You will feel more tired than usual.
Purified vs. Distilled
The differences between purified and distilled water are
very distinct. It is very common that for the typical
consumer to confuse one with the other. Here, we detail the
different factors that differentiate one water from the
other, and explain why purified water is better for you.

Distilled Water |
Cristalia Purified Water |
| Distilled water is water that has
been boiled to the point where the impurities are
separated from the liquid, and its converted into vapor. |
The water has been purified and put
through various processes to eliminate any bacteria,
virus or parasite content usually found in none treated
water. |
| Eliminates all vapors from the
water. |
Maintain some organic minerals in
the water, necessary for good nutrition. |
| Has the ability of absorbing toxic
substances from the body. |
The Ozone process will eliminate by
100% any microbiological contaminants in the water.. |
| Can only be drunk in short periods
of time to not cause any mineral deficiencies in the
body. |
Purified water can be taken for any
period time, and will never affect your health. |

Common
problems with Water Coolers
• “The water isn’t coming out cold”:
occasionally, you may find that the water isn’t as cold as
usual. If this does happen, it may be possible that the
water cooler is disconnected or the thermostat located in
the back of the water cooler, may not be operating properly.
If so, let Cristalia know so that we can send over a
technician to fix the problem.
• “Water comes out too slowly form the cooler”: when
this occurs, normally the filter that purifies the air that
comes into the bottle is wet and that air that comes inside
the bottle is decreasing the quantity of water that comes
out from the valve. Take the bottle off the water cooler;
remove the upper plastic piece of the cooler and verify that
the air filter (a white circle the size of a quarter) is
wet. If it is, let the filter dry and clean the fountain
before putting the water bottle back in its place. If the
problem persists, or if you have any doubts about this
procedure, please call customer service as soon as possible.
• “The valves are leaking”: if your cooler is leaking
water from the valves, the best way of fixing this problem
is tightening (to your right) the plastic ring under the
valve. If this doesn’t solve the problem, remove the 5
gallon bottle of the water cooler and call customer service.
• “The water cooler is leaking”: if the cooler is
leaking and it’s not from any of the valves, it probably
means that the water bottle may be broken in some way. Take
off the water bottle, and try finding the source of the
leak. If the bottle is indeed leaking, empty it and mark the
bottle with an X. Your regular distributor will pick it up
and replace it with a new one on your next visit.
